The marketplace

RentDrive connects renters with independent rental agencies. The rental agreement for each booking is between the renter and the agency; RentDrive provides the platform, collects payment on the agency’s behalf, and mediates disputes.

Bookings and payment

• Prices are set by each agency and shown per day in Ethiopian Birr. The total is fixed when you book.
• A booking is held for 15 minutes while you pay and is confirmed only once Chapa confirms the payment.
• Renters must have a verified phone number and a valid driver’s license on file.

Cancellations and refunds

The cancellation policy shown when you book applies to that booking, even if the agency changes it later. Bookings can’t be cancelled after the car has been collected. If an agency cancels or declines, the renter is refunded in full.

Agencies

• Agencies must keep their business license, vehicle registration and insurance valid.
• RentDrive deducts its commission and pays out each settled booking after the dispute window.
• We may suspend an agency or a listing that breaks these terms; suspension hides listings immediately.
